Bobbi Dubins
About the Artist:
Bobbi Dubins is a watercolorist from Ridgeley, WV. She is a member of the Hampshire County Arts Council, Western Maryland Watercolor Society, Allegany Arts Council, and the Allegany Area Arts Alliance. Bobbi has received numerous awards for her works. Bobbi teaches classes in watercolor and drawing, and specializes in teaching beginners. She feels strongly that art should be an avenue for self-expression, self-discovery, and enjoyment. As such, her classes are ideal for those who are looking for a way to unwind or who have been hesitant to try painting in the past.
Artist Statement:
"As a self-taught artist, my approach to watercolor is non-traditional. My primary goal is to paint simply for self-reward. In a society that is increasingly fast paced and stressful, art provides a way for me to relax, reconnect with my inner self, and rejuvenate. I do not attempt to follow the traditional 'rules' of art, but rather choose to create with as few limitations as possible. Sharing my art with others, a secondary goal, allows me to practice my life philosophy, which is to actively seek to appreciate the good and beautiful things in life and to help others do the same. For this reason, I strive for all of my work to convey positive emotions. I also insist that students in my classes focus on the positive aspects of their art and of life. My only rule in workshops is 'no negativity'."

Artist Statement:
"Working with fibers, connects me with the power of generations of artisans. The slow, creative processes leave time to dwell on the natural subjects in my art and the materials I have collected to use. Living in West Virginia I have come full circle, back to the farm, and rural lifestyle of my youth." —Susan L. Feller

Lin Hausknecht
About the Artist:
I have been working with pottery for many years after being introduced to it in a class in college. It was at first a hobby, which I began spending more and more time with. When I moved to Yellow Spring, WV I knew I wanted to find a place where I could persue the art of creating with clay more seriously. Since 1990 I have worked to sell my pottery while improving the artistry of the pieces. I work mainly in stoneware, fired in gas or electric kilns. I like to make functional pieces which can be used in a persons daily life. I also do smoke fired earthenware and raku fired pottery.
My pottery is sold through stores in the area and craft fairs. I teach classes through Lord Fairfax Community College, Heritage Craft Center, and Glass House Studio. For further information please contact me at linh@citlink.net.
